Have you guys heard of kale chips? I've seen them being made all over the place but never gave them a try until recently. They are super simple. Wash the kale, rip up into bit size pieces, toss with a little olive oil, sea salt, and pepper. Bake at 350 until crisp.
I liked them! I gave John one and he asked my why oh why was I feeding him green paper, and if it was ok if he didn't eat any more. HA So there you have it, one says tasty... the other says paper, I'll let you make them and decide for yourself what you think :D
LOL...love John's comment. I think I'd probably say the same thing... sorry :)
ReplyDeleteMy old roomie used to make these all the time from our CSA kale. I loved 'em. Doesn't hurt that kale is good for you!
ReplyDeletehahaha John's response is so cute!
ReplyDeleteDoes it remind you of the texture of toasted seaweed?
I'd rather him be honest than lie! LOL
ReplyDeleteinanoyster- totally the same texture!
I make these all the time. LOVE them (:
ReplyDeletei tried making these a while back and i didn't MIND them. that is the best i can say. however i did think that maybe if i mixed them with some roasted tomatoes and zucchini i might disguise the taste and be able to eat it easier. i do need to figure out how to get kale into my diet.
ReplyDeleteI tried kale chips the other day at Whole Foods and I definitely didn't realize how easy they are to make!
ReplyDeleteI have heard reviews coming from both sides on this one, but I haven't made them myself yet, I have been thinking about making some, but can't make up my mind! For every good review I hear, there is a bad one, too.
ReplyDeleteHow funny! I just made these today for a post for Monday! :-) They were fantastic!
ReplyDeleteI make these once a week and my kids eat them as they are coming out of the oven. so good, right?
ReplyDeleteYum! Must try!
ReplyDeleteJohn must be related to my husband. That would be his response. What an interesting idea for someone to come up with, don't you think? Kudos for giving it a try!
