Everyone loves sandwiches

My sister always says "everything tastes better between two slices of bread" well Jen, this one is for you, because I couldn't agree with you more :)

It's a wicked fast and delicious lunch if you ask me. All you need is a nice ciabatta roll, a fresh ball of mozzarella, a nice juicy tomato, and some fresh picked basil from the garden. Add a little salt and pepper to taste, stack it up, drizzle a little olive oil on and grill away!

I don't have a panini press... just a grill pan. How do I flatten it you ask? I used a frying pan and a bottle of wine as a press LOL, then I flipped it and pressed the other side :)

Please do not try and bite your computer screen... I know you were trying :)

Ahhhh.. grilled sammiches. YUM! I'm going to hold out for a couple more weeks then make these when my tomatoes finally come off the garden.

I'm going to try your frying pan w/ the wine bottle trick. I agree, everything tastes better with bread!

Mags- homegrown tomatoes on this would have made it perfect!!

Sunshine- hahah no problem ;)

Steph- It worked really well! Just place the frying pan and use the wine bottle in the pan to push down :) I must have looked like a nut doing it though lol

The bottle of wine idea is really clever!
My favorite grilled sandwiches involve nutella and banana... mmmmm!

I definitely was trying! This panini is picture-perfect. All very tasty and delicious ingredients!

Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do...and we see it worked!

That's my perfect summer meal! My family makes basil/tomato/fresh mozzarella sandwiches often in the summer, with fresh corn on the cob as a side. They're so delicious :D

Ooooh, your sandwich does look scrumptious enough to try and sample from the computer screen! :-) I create a homemade panini press exactly the same way as you do - works perfectly! :-) I'm so glad I'm not the only one balancing a wine bottle or a large tin of tomatoes atop my two pans! :-)
