New Year - New fudge recipe

So most people are talking about healthy recipes and starting over new this time of year... not me :) Come on peeps, it's about a lifestyle! Not about starting something crazy and then dropping out of it. So in the name of that I have a wicked tasty not healthy fudge recipe for you. I know totally going against the healthy nature of this site... but that's the whole point, everything is good in moderation!

OK enough of my random philosophies onto the fudge!!!

Fudge is so silly easy to make, and yet it will impress the pants off of anyone you give it to. (beware, don't give this to someone you don't want to see pantsless) You start with the same base, and then stir in whatever add ins you like. Today we have Captain Morgans SMORE fudge... yum!!

Captain Morgans SMORE fudge
by steph chows

1 14 oz can fat free sweetened condensed milk
about 2 cups (12 onces) semi sweet chocolate chips
1 oz spiced rum (bring on the captain morgans)
1 cup mini marshmallows
2 graham cracker sheets broken into small pieces

Pour condensed milk into a medium sauce pan and bring to a simmer over medium heat. Once simmering add in the chocolate chips. Stir occasionally until chocolate is melted and creamy. Pour in rum and stir until incorporated. Remove from heat and stir in marshmallows and graham cracker pieces. Pour into a wax paper lined 8x8 baking square and refrigerate until set (I normally leave it overnight). Once set remove from pan and cut into 1 inch squares. Package up and prepared for a bunch of happy pantsless folks!

Sounds so good with spiced rum! Happy New Year!

Btw, my 5 star makeover write up is posted but if you wanted to add an entry to the list, just send it to me and I will add it right away!

Way to buck the trend, Steph, I love it! What a great idea to use the spiced rum in the fudge ... I'll bet the flavor is fantastic. Yum!

Happy New Year!

I love your New Year's philosophy. Being healthy is an all the time thing, not something you suddenly resolve to do. :)

And that fudge looks delicious!

I agree - it's better to think about moderation and indulging in a piece of fudge once in a while than trying to starve yourself as part of a new years resolution!

Teehee. I'll give this to someone I WANT to see pantsless... think Johnny Depp will accept my fudge if I make it?

I've never made fudge but man, this recipe looks killer.

I think spiked fudge is a fantastic way to start off a new decade :-D I want to take a bite of your fudge right now!

Popped in from Megan's....the only thing better than fudge is smore fudge...

People laugh at me because the only thing I drink is Captain and Diet.. but I LOVE Captain?! And now you've gone and put it in a s'more fudge amazing bite! HOLLA!

So happy I don't have a healthy eating resolution! I think I do okay with the moderation and get in a good mix of healthy and unhealthy... not that I'd classify fudge as unhealthy anyways! :)

saving & making! Fudge is my favorite, my 2nd favorite is malibu rum....I hope I can switch it up with the same effect. :-)

@Teanna: Oh my God, I love Captain Morgan's and diet coke; I know it's super klassy but I can't help it.

Wow, that sounds -crazy- delicious! And now that it's easier to get vegan marshmallows around here, I may just have to give it a shot...! ;)

Teanna and Katie- you are both right on!! I love captain and diet :)

Megan- so does that mean you'd classify fudge as healthy? :) well it's made with chocolate... and that comes from beans... which are vegetables ;)

Joy- thanks so much!

oneshotbeyond- you should make a malibu and cranberry fudge! I bet it would work with the smores too though :)

stephchows said...

Hannah- sorry I missed your comment! I bet the vegan version of this would take amazing too! Can't wait to see what you do :)

The chocolate fudge dosent become hard, its still smoth :S

The fudge shouldn't be rock hard once it sets but it should definitely set up. You can try putting it in the refrigerator to help it set but once it's set it should stay that way unless it gets too warm. Sorry it didn't work out for you!
