My favorite cookbook is http://www.howtocookeverything.tv/ How to cook everything by Mark Bittman, I even give it as wedding gifts!
My mom gave me that book when I moved away for college, love it!
You want me to pick just ONE? Impossible.
I would have to say "International Family Favorites" by Ron Kalenuik. Not a well known or famous or in any other ways outstandingly special book, but for me, it will forever be my favorite. This was the book that first inspired me to go beyond the normal and try new and unique cuisines and techniques. It taught me how to make crepes, baklava, shark stew, and sushi, and there's still plenty to explore. Love it!
Ad Hoc at Home by Thomas Keller - every recipe we have tried is simply perfect. Plus it is filled with tips and techniques that are very helpful.
Life with one cookbook, scary. ;)
Difficult one as I am a true cookbook junkie, but somehow I have deep love and admiration for "Joy of Cooking", simple everyday recipes....food we all love to eat.
Just poppin by to let you know I gave you a silly little award thing--one of those "accept this award and pass it on!" kind of deals. Check out my blog to pick it up!
Also apparently I CAN comment if I do so under twitter... weird.
