Fighting Hunger

OK, so a really good organization contacted me the day before I headed on vacation. I know I'm normally a big goofball but this is a serious subject. They asked me to help get the word out about fighting hunger. I had until today to get that word out and I really wanted to! (sorry this is so under the wire!) I mean come on who's better to tell you about wanting to stop hunger than me?? I chow constantly, and couldn't imagine what so many people go through on a daily basis. Did you know that 31 million people in the united states will miss a meal today (1/3 of which are children)? I couldn't even imagine that. I mean I get cranky when it's been a few hours since I've eaten! (come on I know you do too) I can't even comprehend what the true feeling of going hungry means...

Here's the other thing, they are donating a box of cereal for the first 30 people who comment on this... so come on people leave a comment so some cereal will get donated!

ShopRite's Partners in Caring has been around for 10 years now! Over that time, they have donated over $20 million! They are dedicated to this fight, but they need your help too, head over to Partners in Caring to learn more about how you can help fight hunger!

Thanks for the support everyone!

I get "hungry" after like 30 min without eating. Horrible. It really is staggering how many people don't have enough nutritious food.

It really is a baffling situation we have...some children are not getting the nutritious food they need to thrive and grow while at the same time there is a HUGE problem with obesity being on the rise in so many children...very strange...actually lots of obese people are actually malnourished because they are not eating healthy foods...
Peace, Stephanie

What a great cause.

The problem of hunger is beyond politics. Children, through no fault of their own, are going hungry here. This is a small thing to do to try to help.

What a wonderful program! We need to fight hunger at home more than anywhere; in our own very privileged society, the statistics can be quite shocking!

You're great, Steph. =)

It's terrible that so many people go without enough to eat. Especially when others waste so much! :(

I'll add a comment. I knew people in school who had to go without meals - it's terrible. This is a great program!

Amazing cause! It is so easy to get caught up in our own world while forgetting there's so much more out there! Thanks for bringing this to attention.

What a great cause! I'm a teacher at a low-income school, and despite our free breakfast/lunch program, so many of our students end up going hungry. Such an eye opener because we live in a country of excess. It's hard to believe so many people here don't have food. Yay, cereal!

I would have posted earlier but I was out of town. I'm always happy when someone gets to eat.
