Ile De France

What's better then a nice hunk of brie? How about a free hunk of brie! The wonderful people over at Ile De France sent me an adorable wheel of brie to sample. Take a look!

They also wrote about a recipe contest they are having. So I need to come up with an idea of what to use this lovely brie in. Any suggestions??? I want to do something totally original... so no ham and brie sandwiches, or a simple baked brie... although those are SUPER tasty! Hmmm what to do what to do...

What would you lovely ladies and gents make?

Love brie! Brie in puff pastry is wonderful and you can make a fancy sandwich - goes well with prosciutto for example.

Do something with a fruit preserve or homemade fruit preserve- incredible taste with brie :)

You could stuff something with brie...chicken is too obvious, maybe a flank steak roll? Or how about making a sauce out of it?

Something sweet, definitely. I love turning traditionally savoury ingredients on their ear (how avante garde!). =)

It would be tough for me to keep from just eating it all on its own!

I like Aleta's idea of doing a sweet/savory dessert. Or perhaps I'd do some kind of buckwheat crepe and make an unusual filling for it out of the brie - maybe combined with some unusual fruit and herbs.

Of course my favorite thing to do with brie is to bake it ... but that's been done to death.

Lucky you, have fun! Can't wait to see what you come up with.

Hi there,

I see that you enjoy healthy eating and experimenting with new recipes. I'm not sure if you've heard, but Stonyfield Farm makes Oikos Organic Greek yogurt. It's triple strained making it extra thick and versatile for cooking with. It's also the only organic Greek yogurt on the market today.

I'd love to send you free coupons to try Oikos. If you're interested, just shoot me an email and let me know where to send them, along with the name of your blog.

Take care!

A panini with crusty bread, green apples, brie, honey and a sprinkling of fresh thyme is the best thing you'll ever taste!!! The crunchy grilled bread, warm melty brie, tart apples, and hint of sweet honey....oh my oh my!
