cupcakes in or out?

I don't really care if cupcakes are passe now or out of style. These things are tasty and I'm going to keep eating them even if pies are the new thing... or macaroons... or whatever it is that is in now... what's in now? See I don't even know!

I stopped by Katherine's on Monroe the other day and picked up a few treats for dessert. Ok who we kidding we ate these things as our appetizer. And yes *gasp* John ate some! I've beaten him down over the years, he would have never eaten one of these when we first met. bwahahhaha, I think I'm doing him well :)

Which of these three would have been your favorite?
cupcakes
Cookies and Cream - the frosting was crazy sweet, a bit too much for me, but the chocolate cupcake was delicious.
Boston Cream - John's favorite. Yellow cake with a chocolate frosting center and chocolate ganache.
PB cup - 100% perfect if you ask me :) Chocolate cake studded with chocolate chips, a PB filling followed by a PB frosting.

OH, YUM! My mom lives just up the road from there (I used to too). I'll have to stop in there the next time I'm in NY!

Can cupcakes actually go out of style? Something that tasty should always be in.

I want a PB one right now!!
And cupcakes will always be awesome.

Hmm I wonder why the Boston Cream one didn't have a custard center? As traditional Boston Cream pies are the yellow cake, vanilla center, topped with ganache.

Wow, they really do all look amazing- The decorating job just puts them over the top! I have to agree with you though, I'd probably go for the PB + chocolate one first.

Seeing as how I'm allergic to peanut butter, I think I would have went for that Boston cream. Yum!
